The Truth About Limitations

Limitation: inability or restriction by circumstance

The definition of a limitation is a barrier that cannot be passed due to “circumstances.” What are these circumstances? They are all the components that are currently present which prevent any further progress.

When it comes to people, we believe a limitation is something you cannot go past, but the truth is, a limitation is something that we are MEANT to go past. As the saying goes, “Rules are made to be broken.” Limits are made to be broken, false ceilings are meant to be shattered, and plateaus are meant to be surpassed. These “current circumstances” that create our limitations are not permanent, far from it in fact. A limitation is nothing more than just our current level of capability. Our bodies and brains have so many mechanisms in place to change, evolve, and improve over time. The only reason we have limitations is because we allow ourselves to believe we do.

How many times do you hear yourself saying, “I can’t do that,” “My body isn’t capable of that,” or “I wish I could do that.” YOU CAN DO THAT. Get rid of those self-limiting thoughts and get out of that self-defeating mindset. If you don’t believe you can do something, you’re right, you can’t. But only because you don’t believe you can. Sure, your body might not be able to do certain things right now, but that is only your TEMPORARY limitation. You can do those things if you make small gains every day and push back that barrier little by little. All these little gains add up, and eventually you WILL shatter your ceiling.

There are no limits except the limits we set for ourselves. Break yourself from the chains that hold you back. Never allow anyone, not even yourself, to tell you that you can’t do something. You can do ANYTHING if you believe and put forth effort.
